Al-Qurʼān

Al-Qurʼān is built to be a quiet place — not a place that watches you back. This page explains, plainly, what that means in practice, including the one exception: a small amount of anonymous usage data that helps us keep the app working well.
Al-Qurʼān has no accounts, no ads, and no tracking. The whole Qurʼān ships inside the app and is read entirely offline. We use anonymous, aggregate analytics (Firebase Analytics) to see how often the app is opened and on what kind of device — never anything that identifies you, and never what you read.
Your highlights, notes, reading position, streak and settings live only on your device. We never see them.
The app includes Google's Firebase Analytics, configured conservatively: it records that an installation opened the app — session counts, coarse country, device model and OS version — so we can tell whether the app is healthy and where to focus. It is not told your identity, your location, or anything you do inside the Qurʼān. Ad personalisation signals are disabled.
The Prayer and Qibla screens can use your device's location for exactly one purpose: computing prayer times and the direction of the Kaʻbah on your device. Your coordinates never leave your phone — the calculation is done locally, not on a server.
Location permission is optional. If you decline it, you can pick a city from a list instead, and both features work the same way.
If you turn on prayer notifications, they are scheduled locally by your device's own clock. No notification service of ours is involved, because none exists.
Everything the app knows about you lives on your device, so uninstalling the app removes all of it. The anonymous statistics above cannot be tied back to you — which also means there is nothing personal on any server to request deletion of.
If a future version of the app changes any of the above — for example, an optional cloud backup feature — this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the feature will be opt-in.
